In The Spotlight
St. Francis’ heritage in Sonoma County dates back to its roots as a premium grape grower in the early
1970s. St. Francis has seized an opportunity to encapsulate their years of experience and create a living legend
that pays tribute to the longevity and tradition of winemaking in Sonoma County. Wild Oak wines represent a tapestry
of sensational vineyard sites in Sonoma County and express the heritage embodied in these majestic trees.
While the St. Francis premier vineyards are situated throughout Sonoma County they all
have one thing in common: each is bordered by oaks, and most are dominated by at least one magnificent oak type.
The Wild Oak wines are blended from these vineyards, layering the distinctive aromas, flavors, and textures imparted
by each location’s
unique terroir. Wild Oak’s vineyards are in some of Sonoma’s best AVAs: Sonoma Valley, Carneros-Sonoma,
Alexander Valley, Russian River Valley, Dry Creek Valley, Sonoma Coast, and Rockpile.
Wild Oak Chardonnay is a crisp yet full-bodied chardonnay that offers plush fruit in a clearly Burgundian context.
Wild Oak Old Vine Zinfandel is classic Sonoma County Zin from some of the most venerable plantings of California’s Heritage grape variety.
Wild Oak Syrah gains its assertive Rhone character from the altitude and volcanic
soil of Nunn’s Canyon Vineyard, high above Sonoma Valley.
Wild Oak Cabernet Sauvignon shows the complementary qualities of mountainside vineyards in diverse locations.
